Angelica is a perennial herb native to North America that can grow up to six feet tall. The plant has white to green colored flowers that have the shape of an umbrella.
The leaves can be quite large and be up to 2 feet wide while the stem can have a purple color to it.

Roots are primarily used, however, all parts of the plant can be used including the seeds and stalk.

Medicinal uses
Reproductive system – A traditional use of angelica is to promote blood flow to the uterus and blood vessels around the uterus. Another possible benefit may be to help regulate hormones which is why some people have used it for amenorrhea (absence of a menstrual cycle), or premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
Digestive system – Angelica can act as a stimulant to promote gastrointestinal function by increase secretions, absorption and elimination of digested food in the GI tract.

Infusion – 1 to 2 teaspoons per cup, steep 10 to 15 minutes, 1 to 3 cups per day
Tincture – 1 dropperful, 1 to 3 times daily

Tends to grow in damp conditions such as near a marsh, river, or stream
